BUST RALLIES
Europe's Ultimate Banger Rally Adventures Est. 2013.
What does it involve? We could explain, but why not hear it from the horse's mouth? Below is taken from their official website.
Bust Rallies is Europe's ultimate banger rally adventures as featured on Sky Sports, BBC News & The Sunday Times
The organisers challenge teams to source a car for less than £1,000 (although any vehicle is welcome), drive Europe's most amazing roads, participate in various fun challenges, and compete for points and prizes.
Teams are encouraged to raise money for a charity of their choice and can share their progress with supporters back home via live GPS tracking.
Since 2013, over 2500 cars and 5000 participants have participated in their banger rally adventures, raising over £1 million for their chosen charities.
With no set routes, speed, or clocks to race against, it's not about how fast you can cross the finish line. Instead, it's about fun challenges, adventure, camaraderie, fancy dress and accomplishing something as unique as you are. All cars are welcome, but drivers receive more starting grid points the older and smaller their engine size is!
Bust Rallies provide the ideal setting for a fun weekend, celebration, or fundraising for a favourite charity. Entrants do not need a reason to take part; they just need a minimum of two drivers, appropriate insurance, a car, and some sense of direction.
Competitors are asked to register the night before the rally, and teams are brought together each morning and evening of the event to check in and receive briefings and challenge sheets. The Bust Rallies crew are on hand throughout to provide any support needed. On the final evening, there's a finishers party and an awards presentation.
Following the rally, competitors may choose to get their banger crushed and head home by other means. They may also add a couple of days to their stay, allowing them to kick back and relax. The bravest of the brave may opt to throw caution to the wind and drive their trusty steed back home!
The team organise four routes: Monte Carlo or Bust Rally: Champagne Charlie (sights include the Champagne region, Great St. Bernard Pass, and Turin), Barcelona or Bust (sights include Le Man's circuit, Bordeaux wine region, and Collada de Toses pass), and Inverness or Bust Rally: Loch Ness Monster (sights include the Yorkshire Dales, Lake Districts, Loch Lomond, Ben Nevis, and Loch Ness).
Finally, the route we will be taking, Monte Carlo or Bust Rally: Black Forest Gateau (sights include The Black Forest, Gotthard Pass, and Lake Como).
