NEW START

The original reason for making this trip was to make some memories.  No one knows what is around the corner; why wait?

As we plan to drive from Liverpool to the Mediterranean and back, a journey of over 3000 miles, in our tiny city cars, it got us thinking: should we use this endeavour to raise a few quid for charity too?  Surely people would sponsor a group of idiots attempting this? 
 
We could have supported many charities, but one really stands out: New Start.  This charity holds a special place in our hearts because of its life-changing impact on our amazing friend, Ellis.  His journey with cystic fibrosis and the life-saving transplant he received through New Start really touched us.
 
New Start is a charity that provides financial support to the heart and lung transplantation programme at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester.  It is one of only five heart and lung Transplant Centres in the UK, and its work has a profound impact on the lives of many, including Ellis. 
 
Ellis was lucky enough to get a life-saving procedure, along with the best care from his wife, Sarah, which allowed him a better quality of life.  Tragically, he passed away not so long ago, and it knocked us for six. 
 
We would like to do something to give someone the chance to have a bit more life, as we wouldn't swap the time we had with Ellis for anything.
