According to reports, the UK is the second-largest market for aftermarket vehicle upgrades in Europe. The industry was valued at around £7.8 billion in 2025, and is forecast to reach £9.5 billion by 2030. The manufacturing sector is worth around £12 billion, with approximately 1,600 businesses operating in it.
The Top 10 most popular modifications in the UK are:
1. Alloy Wheels
2. Number Plate Personalisation
3. Exhaust Upgrades
4. LED Lighting
5. Suspension & Lowering Kits
6. ECU Remapping / Engine Tuning
7. Vinyl Wraps & Custom Paint
8. Infotainment & Audio Upgrades
9. Body Kits & Spoilers Body kits
10. Brake Upgrades
There are a few on that list I've done to my car. It has new-to-me alloys that I fitted (but the original ones are going back on), and a personalised number plate that I even screwed on myself.

There are mods I desperately want, most notably converting the lights to LED, as the units fitted at the moment basically shed darkness.
The current lights are like having a candle in an auld lamp - useless and borderline dangerous in my opinion, but fine by Fiat apparently.
I also want to change the audio inside, most notably the rear speakers, so that every time I play 'Maneater' by Hall & Oats, the delicate sound of Blue Eyed Soul comes drifting forward, not a series of farts like it does now. This was something I planned to do myself, but after watching a how-to on YouTube, I haven't got the time, tools or skills to perform open-car surgery to change two speakers.
What I could do is number 9 on the list - Body Kits & Spoilers, especially if the car parked around the corner of my house is anything to go by (see above). A good spoiler can completely transform a car's appearance, but not in this case!
I'm not a fully-fledged race mechanic, but I doubt this is going to add a ton of downforce to the back of the car, helping push the rear wheels into the tarmac and improving grip in high-speed corners! Then again, what do I know?
Clearly stuck on by someone with a good sense of humour, it certainly made me smile when I saw it! Good luck to you, squire. I hope it provides all the performance your little heart desires!!!
