193 DAMP DEFLECTION...

Our Abarth, like all modern cars, doesn't have a drip rail - that little strip of raised metal designed to stop rain cascading over the roof and down into the window. So, like everyone out there at some time, I've ended up with an elbow full of cold water.
I sometimes like to open my window a little to let some air circulate, but if there has been even the lightest drizzle, my right arm gets dripped on as the water on the roof gently cascades down the roof. I can't crack the window when driving in the rain, as my wiper sweeps water to the right of the windscreen and right onto my arm.

It drives me mad. I need a solution. Thankfully, I may have found one in the form of a wind deflector. Although designed to reduce wind noise when the windows are cracked open a little, they also double up as a rain diverter - result.
Bought from eBay, they only cost £20 and even came with a 10% discount - every little helps. They look straightforward to fit, just slide the unit into the window seal and secure with a couple of clips - no tape or drilling necessary.
They are designed to lower wind noise inside the cabin and deflect wind and rain through the open side windows, which is exactly what I want. These particular units are made from high-grade, durable 2.5mm thick acrylic - twice the thickness of other deflectors out there it seems.
I've watched the installation videos; they look easy enough to fit, but this is me we are talking about. DIY is certainly not my forte, as it requires patience and precision; I am the definition of 'that'll do'! Keep an eye out for a future post of me showing off my fitting prowess, or a picture of them in the bin!
