227 KEEP ON MOVING...

We are inching closer to being done. The car has just had £860 worth of work, including a fresh MOT, a full service, and new pads and discs all round. Just need to get the air con regassed, and we are there. While at the garage, I also got them to swap the lovely silver alloys for the moody black ones, which better fit the colour scheme.

I also had confirmation that we can take the car to Aintree Racecourse for some photos! Our Communications Manager has a contact who has a contact at the racecourse, and they have said we can take the car down. My brother-in-law has just bought a fancy new camera and is itching to give it a try, and said he will snap the car to within an inch of its life.

We also had news from both Richie and Carl that they had made progress on the graphics for their cars. Richie sent over mock-ups of the 'Daisy 26' badge for the doors (below), and he confirmed there were more stickers in the pipeline for the windows. Lisa saw them and was concerned about the screws shown in the image. Turns out they are just pictures of screws, it wasn't how they were attached to the Audi!

Carl confirmed that he had heard back from Colour Create, and they produced a mock-up of the graphics for his car. He had sent an image of what he was looking for, and they had created a 1-meter-by-1-meter image of what they could do.

Carl was made up with what they produced and went away to measure to see if they were the right size.

I also received a t-shirt I had created as a test with a new logo on the front. Mine fits nicely, but we need a slightly bigger size for Lisa. We said we could give her the test t-shirt to my sister, who wants to join the trip in spirit.

We have also made progress on the final booking we need to make: LeShuttle. I did some back-of-a-fag-packet maths and estimated we will get to Folkestone around 14:00, so we can guess what time we need to catch the train. We will buy flexible tickets, which also give us 4 hours of wiggle room. Just need everyone to agree.

Things are moving along nicely, as is the drive to raise donations for New Start. We honestly thought we would get a couple of hundred quid for the coffers, but within 24 hours we've already raced past £600. I haven't shared this with our work yet, but I expect a surge of donations once I do, as Ellis was a well-loved colleague.
