251 KODAK MOMENT...

The guys at Bust Rallies HQ had a dig around the back of their digital camera and eventially found images of our little convoy crossing the finishing line in Casino Square, Monaco, opposite the famous Café de Paris Hotel, surrounded by Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Porches.

Not going to lie, we were really disappointed not to have these pictures, as making it to Monaco with the other competitors was the culmination of the rally, something we had all worked really hard to prepare for and complete. We wanted a memento of the achievement.

Lisa messaged the team to see where the pictures were, as we were told there was a photographer at the end, and even spoke to someone as we went around the track (twice) who was snapping away and congratulated us.

We are glad the pictures have finally appeared; it was a proud moment for us. Our little runarounds had made it to Belgium, travelled through Luxembourg and France to Germany, dusted themselves off to traverse Switzerland, then headed to Italy for the night, before it was a blast down to Monaco.

It takes a second to read that, but it was the thick end of three full days driving for us. 750 miles from Namur to Monaco, through little villages and towns, along ultrafast autobahns and over the Alps - all in cars primarily designed to 'pop to the shops'.

I can't believe that it is all done and dusted. After 2 years of planning, all the panic over documentation and car essentials, and the money spent getting the cars ready to complete the rally (or, in Richie and Rachel's case, buying a whole new car!!!). The endless back-and-forth with car decals, bespoke outfits being created.

I have post-rally blues, but I'm looking back, I'm incredibly proud of what we achieved.
