05 STICK WITH ME KID...

So, we're about to embark on an exciting journey with the Abarth 500s.  The plan is to keep one (me) and sell the other (Carl) after we've completed the rally.   However, we must be mindful not to damage the paint or make the cars harder to sell.  This means we'll have to get creative with our customisation.

Then, the inspiration hit again.  Why not use the magnetic sheets they put on the side of taxis?  Instead of displaying the phone numbers of 'Babs Cabs', we can put the race-specific logos on there and lash them on the side of the cars.  We can cut the sheets to shape and stick them on the bonnet, roof, and tailgate of the little Abarth, too.

I can bedeck the white car in Martini, Michelin and Magneti Marelli decals.   I can add the distinctive navy blue, sky blue and red stripes down the car's length, making it stand out.  I was excited!

But what about the black one?  No rally cars are black, but there are beautiful JPS race cars from the past - gorgeous black machines with dazzling gold stripes and livery.  I showed Carl, and he was instantly sold.  All it needed was some gold wheels, he said; let me have a think; I need to break out some more ingenuity.
