It was official: We were doing a mad trek from Liverpool to Monaco in tiny, uncomfortable, but really cool cars. Excitedly, I started looking at key parts of the route, most notably the Gotthard Pass in Switzerland. This thin ribbon of tarmac snakes its way up a mountain, littered with hairpin bends, sheer drops, and stunning views. I found some pictures and showed them to Rachel, who immediately declared that she was in!

We watched a couple of videos showing cars gingerly making their way down the pass on a beautiful sunny day, which just highlighted the natural beauty of the Alps. Rachel was giddy and started talking about what colour car she could get and what race team they could use. The answer was really obvious to me: They should get the baby blue Abarth and turn it into a mini Gulf Racing A-Road blaster!

I thought long and hard about potentially going down the Gulf Racing route. The cars are probably the most iconic out there, plus the baby blue Abarths are less popular, so they are a little cheaper, which is a bonus.

Getting them ready is straightforward, too: a big orange stripe up the bonnet, over the roof, and down the boot, a big number on the side, and orange wheels. It wouldn’t take much to make a very cool-looking car.

I showed Rachel and she was even more enthused!  The blue and orange colour scheme looks amazing and it is dead obvious that it will look really good on a little Abarth.  I am a little jealous to be honest.
