I'm still struggling to come up with content for this little corner of the Internet because of stuff happening in the real world, but as a follow-up to my previous post, I did some digging to see which was the best AI image generator out there and whether it could come up with anything better than Grok 2 (it wouldn't be hard, to be fair).

An app/website called Leonardo appeared promising, so I visited them, signed up, sold my soul to the devil in the unread terms and conditions, and poked around. As it is a fully featured application, many more options are available, with a comprehensive list of variables that can be tweaked to help me get what I need.

I put the same prompt in as I did with Grok 2: "Draw a modern white Abarth 500 rally car in Martini racing colours driving along an alpine pass at speed."  The results were miles better than the Twitter offering, but they looked a bit cartoony (see first image below), so I modified the prompt slightly to the following: "Create a realistic photo of a modern white Abarth 500 rally car in Martini racing colours driving along an alpine pass at speed."

I moaned about AI being dumb and needing a lot of human intervention to generate something decent, but I need to take that back when talking about Leonardo, as it took my prompt and expanded it to the following to generate a better image.

"Create a highly detailed, realistic photograph of a modern Abarth 500 rally car, gleaming in its distinctive Martini Racing livery, featuring a white body with blue and red stripes, speeding down a winding Alpine pass, surrounded by lush green mountains and shrubs, with a few scattered trees and rocky outcroppings in the background, the car's wheels slightly airborne as it takes a sharp turn, kicking up a cloud of dust and gravel, with a sense of dynamic motion captured through blurred wheels and a slight blur around the car, under a bright blue sky with just a few puffy white clouds, with late morning sunlight casting long shadows across the road and mountainside, highlighting the car's sleek lines and rugged terrain."

The AI AI'ed itself! Alright, Skynet, calm down!!! The results are better than those generated using my prompt but aren't perfect. I also wanted to ask it to create an image of Carl's JPS Abarth, but I ran out of image-generation tokens, so I must try again tomorrow. I'll also ask it to draw a Ford Kuga in full A-Team garb. I'm looking forward to seeing what it comes up with on that request!
