147 NOT LOST IN TRANSLATION...

I have found the next essential item required for our trip across Europe in our tiny city cars: a pair of headphones. Stay with me. These aren't just any headphones - they are the latest iteration of Apple's AirPods.

The new AirPods Pro 3 come with everything you would expect from a new Apple product: a sleek new design, fantastic sound, top-tier noise cancellation, a super comfy and secure fit, heart rate tracking during workouts, and better battery life.

But the feature that really stood out to me? Live translation. It lets you have real-time conversations with people who don’t speak your language - and it all happens right through your AirPods.

So how does it actually work? Basically, if you're wearing your AirPods, you can just talk normally, and they’ll handle the translation. If you're not using the hands-free mode, your iPhone can display a live transcription in the other person’s language when you’re speaking.

Then, when the other person replies, their response gets translated back into your language through your AirPods. It’s even better if both of you are using AirPods with Live Translation turned on, as the conversation flows seamlessly between the two participants with translations being made on the fly.

Currently, live translation is available in English, French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish. Apple says Italian, Japanese, Korean, and simplified Chinese will be available later this year.

Our journey takes us through France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and Monaco, with the possibility of a detour to Spain if time allows. With the AirPods Pro 3, we have a translator in our pocket, making communication a breeze.
