57 OUT WITH THE OLD...

With the Abarth now mine, it was time to make some necessary changes (and some not-so-necessary). First up was the tyres. The rubber on the car now may be road-legal, but there are also three different makes, two of which I’ve never heard of. They have got to go.
I whizzed on to Black Circles and ordered a set of Uniroyal RainSport 5’s, which come highly recommended by the Abarth Owners Club. They aren’t the pinnacle of performance (that would be the Pirelli P Zero Nero’s on my other set of alloys <smug mode>), but they are right up there. Also, they are around 20% cheaper than the Pirelli’s, which is a bonus.

The car is booked in to get them fitted in a couple of days, so there is not too long to wait. Also, they are being done by a fitter 3 miles away, which is a bonus.
Next, it was the number plates. The ones on the car have a terrible, red underplate advertising the garage in South Wales where it was registered. That had to go. She was once a Welsh Dragon, but now she is a Scouse Rocket!
I went online and ordered a set from UKREGPLATES. I had to deal with the necessary bureaucracy, send pictures of driving licences and V5 slips, etc., but eventually, my order was in.
Finally, I treated myself to a set of unofficial floor mats and then stepped away from eBay and Etsy to give my bank account a break!!!
