If I change the car's scheme to the new, fresher Martini Racing or the Castrol Oil one, I will be copying Scalextric vehicles rather than real machines. The scheme Carl is going with is also from a slot car, as there isn't a JPS Abarth race team (see below).

As I've said elsewhere, I'm okay with taking inspiration from anywhere. I don't care what the source is as long as it is good. Stepping back, we could be recreating fictional rally cars that were created to be raced around a 'clickety-clack track' on Christmas Day by excited children!

I like this idea, as it adds another layer of absurdity to the whole adventure.

Now, we are not only driving tiny city cars across Europe and making them look like rally cars, but we are also making them look like rally cars from what is essentially a kids' toy! I'm unsure if the idea is madness or genius; I'll let you good people decide, but I'm on the fence.

If we decide to go this route, we owe it to Scalextric to add their logo to the Abarths as a nod to the inspiration behind the designs.

Seeing the Scalextric logo sitting proudly next to Castrol/JPS/Martini would be funny. It might help explain the inspiration behind the design to the casual observer and add another talking point for the trip.
