141 COLIN FOR SUPPORT...

I almost found the perfect support vehicle for our epic jaunt across Europe next year. I stumbled across this cracking-looking campervan on eBay, with no reserve and steady bidding. Unfortunately, I don't have the time, energy, or space for another vehicle, especially as it was listed as a fixer-upper.
I watched the bidding go up and up, and it eventually went for just over £6,000. I'm unsure if it is a reasonable price, as I haven't researched. Still, at face value, it looked like a cracking deal to me, especially with the wrap and the fact it has been converted into a camper van.
We joked that Richie should buy a transit van to complete the trip; this would have fitted the bill to a tee. Not only would he be plodding along in a big, comfy armchair in an elevated position without feeling the need to race the Abarths, but he and Rachel would have a ready-made place to stay.
The van had been converted to include a fridge, sink, cooker and a rock and roll bed, creating a comfortable place to stay, ideal for a trip hopping from city to city. There is also enough space to carry essentials from the other cars, meaning we can take more stuff.
There was even a matching awning we could have used for post-stage drinks and nibbles before meeting up with our other rally competitors.
In the end, it wasn't to be, but it was a nice thought; who knows, we might make our own version in the future; I fancy a transit camper, so why not get the magnetised strips out again and knock up a copy of this Colin McRae support vehicle?
