262 MOTHBALLING...
Now that we have completed the rally, the JustGiving link has closed, and there are (currently) no plans to repeat the trip next year, I think it is time to do some admin on the site, changing it from a journal of what we planned to do into an archive of what we did.
My head says I should take a copy of the whole site and then turn it off, but my heart says we have worked too hard and put too much into it to take it down. Heart wins, right?
Who knows, it might give someone the push/inspiration to buy a car and go on an epic trip across Europe! I would honestly recommend the event to anyone; if our pokey little website helps swing someone's decision, then it is worth keeping the site up.

Our site hosts have just gleefully informed me that all the costs have gone up - no doubt because A.I.-slop-producing data centres have hoovered up all the world's RAM and hard drives.
I reckon the cost is worth it, but if the site suddenly disappears, I've run out of cash... or our A.I. overlords have hacked me for describing their work as 'slop'.
I will make a start this week and then pin a post on the blog explaining that the site is in hibernation. Still, hopefully it will wake up again one day, stumble out of its cave scratching its arse, looking for food, and we will be in business again.
I'm hoping this will be therapeutic, but I'm already feeling sad about having to change some text I wrote a couple of years ago. It's time to refresh the page and move on.
